Michael Lopergolo was first assigned to Cakmakli, Turkey as an Army officer in 1980. Because of his love for culture, history, family values, cafes and strong Turkish coffee, it was a natural fit.
Lopergolo’s interest in culture and history was rooted in a hobby that he began earlier in his life: collecting antiques. Although Mike is open to collecting any antique that “feels as if I should own it”, his focus is usually antique telephones, antique radios and antique record players.
